The new year has begun and for a large part of the population this means work, work, work. Once the working day has returned, most people dream of the next holiday or the idea of simply diving into the water and being able to relax in the course of it. Controlled by this thought, one often goes to portals that offer short trips at the lowest possible cost.

But which portal offers us the travel bargain with the best price-performance ratio?

As a result, the first step is to discuss the general purchasing behaviour of Germans. Thereupon we take care of the analysis of 6 selected bargain portals and examine with which feeling they search the Internet for price- and performance-oriented travel bargains. Subsequently, we give recommendations for the successful bargain search.

The general purchasing behavior of the People

The procedure is actually quite simple: you go to the supermarket, buy the food you want, go to the checkout and leave the shop again. According to a survey, we experience this everyday situation as particularly stressful if it is not designed in our favour.

In this context, a purchase only satisfies us if it is carried out quickly and easily and nothing disturbs us. In times of economic crisis, one would assume that we would tighten our belts considerably and reduce our consumption. However, the opposite is the case. We spend just as much money, but with a differentiated approach.

Strong penchant for saving

Accordingly, we carry out every purchase according to the principle of “saving as much as possible“. To do this, you have to go to several shops only to be able to get the cheapest offer at the end. Furthermore, it is considered very annoying if the desired product is sold out or no longer available.

But especially long queues at the checkout are also perceived as very caustic. The Germans’ pronounced sense of economy can also be seen with regard to the shopping centre. According to this, discounters for the purchase of daily groceries are mostly visited. One does not shrink from buying No Name products.
