This past weekend, the University of Georgia Rowing club competed in the Clemson Sprints. It was held on their campus in South Carolina.

UGA reclaimed its spot on the top this weekend coming away with first place team points. Many, many medals were given out after the regatta. The women's varsity 4 boat got 3rd in a tight race. The men's varsity 4 got 1st. The women's novice 4 boats competed in flights, and both the A and B boats got 1st place in their respective flights. The men's novice 4 boat came away with a 6th place. The men's varsity 8 boats also represented us very well. The light 8 got 2nd and the open 8 got 3rd. The men's open light 4 got 1st place. The women's open light 4 got 5th. The women's varsity 8 A and B boats came away with 2nd and 3rd place. The women's novice 8 A and B boats also got 2nd and 3rd place. Even though the varsity women in the light 4 boats finished a race 5 minutes before starting the next, they still managed to get 2nd and 4th place. The men's varsity light 4 boats competed in flights and got 5th and 6th in their respective flights. Both mixed varsity 8 boats capped off the day with 1st place finishes. Needless to say, we were all very proud.

This weekend the team gets its first free weekend. After two weeks of hard training we hope to have a strong showing at the John Hunter Regatta. John Hunter will be in Oak Ridge, Tennessee in two weekends.
