At the Head of The South Regatta in Augusta, Georgia on November 9 – 10, the UGA Rowing Team had a very strong showing. The day was started with the Women’s Collegiate & Club Novice 8+ category. We had both an A and a B boat entered in this race of 13 boats. Our A boat placed second and our B boat, not far behind, placed fourth. The B boat did very well, beating several A boats from other schools in this race. Our varsity women in the Women’s Club 8+ placed second out of seven boats. In the Women’s Club 4+ race, our varsity women finished very strong, with our A boat taking third and B boat taking fifth out of nineteen boats. The women’s Collegiate and Club Novice 4+ had three boats entered in its category all finishing in the top half, which is amazing. Out A boat finished third, the B boat finished seventh, and the C boat finished eighth, beating out several A boats. Finishing out the day, was the Women’s Champ 8+. This varsity boat finished sixth with a very strong time. Although the men’s boats did not medal in any events, both the novice and varsity men, did very well and were strong competitors. Overall, the UGA Crew team came out did and a lot of quality rowing.
