November 3-4 was the Head of the Hooch Regatta in Tennessee. The UGA Rowing Team was entered in numerous categories and placed very well. The varsity Women's Club 8+ placed second out of eleven followed by the Women's Collegiate and Club Novice 8+ A and B. The A boat placed fifth out of thirty entries and the B boat was not far behind, defeating several A boats finishing in the top half. The Men's Club 8+ placed sixth out of seventeen entries and finished with a very competitive time. Next was the Women's Club 4+ with an A and B entry. These boats finished in the top half with the A boat in second and the B boat in twelfth. The novice women also did strong in the 4+ category. In the Women's Collegiate and Club Novice 4+ the A boat finished fifth out of twenty seven boats. The Mixed Open 4 had the most entries of the day with A, B, and C entries. The A boat finished second, the B - fifth, and the C - thirteenth out of eighteen. The Women's Open 8 had an A and a B boat that finished second and fourth with very competitive times. The men's boats also did very well considering the complications that were endured. During the Men's Collegiate and Club Novice 4+ race, a boat collided into the men and caused a rower to be hit in the face with an opposing teams oar, forcing the men to seek medical attention and not finish the race. The Varsity men offered encouragement and guidance to the novice men and did well for themselves too. The regatta was a learning experience and turned out very well for the UGA Rowing team.
